Safety Specialist

Consolidated Disposal Service, a division of Republic Services, the nation’s 2nd largest solid waste services provider is searching for a Safety Specialist.

 

Essential Job Functions:


Administer the Los Angeles and Ventura County area’s risk management program to include liability and workers compensation claims, assembling reports on lost time accidents, attend small claims trails and accident investigations. Other responsibility includes driver files, drug & alcohol testing program training and facility compliance.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements: 2 + years prior safety experience with some solid waste experience.Bachelor Degree preferred. Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Internet)Bilingual, Spanish a plusStrong communication & analytical skills.Must be able to travel to local sites and work varied hours based on the needs of the business.  Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, Federal, State and local laws.
