Environmental Waste Coordinator - Sterling Heights Automotive

Atttention Recent College Graduates!!  VMX International, a Michigan-based environmental company has an immediate position for an Entry level environmental professional in Sterling Heights, Michigan.This exciting opportunity will report to a DaimlerChrysler facility on a daily basis.  Manufacturing experience, especially in an automotive plant is a plus.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to success in the automotive plant environment.  Must have a sincere dedication to customer service and have the ability to multi-task in a team environment. Will consider recent college graduate; related internship  experience is a plus.  Excellent career growth opportunity in the environmental field!

Will be Assisting On-Site Project Manager with:

 Ensure environmental compliance in accordance to local, state and federal regulations Investigate all waste streams for the potentials of reduction, reuse, or recycling. Work closely with the landfills, recycling facilities, and other disposal destinations Manage all third party waste, environmental vendors, and sub-contractors on the industrial customer site.  This includes preparation, scheduling, and tracking of all shipments of recyclables, trash, hazardous, and non-hazardous wastes. Provide single invoice and financial reports to the client, along with being the single point of contact on all matters. This includes tracking all internal costs for the project and providing regular profit and loss updates to the area Manager Supervise various sub-contractor projects on a daily/weekly basis as needed. Communicate with local, state, and governmental officials as needed. Responsible for ensuring that all of their assigned activities are conducted according to legal and other requirements, the environmental policy and operational controls. This individual will be working independently without immediate supervision on a client site.

 

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Environmental Science/Chemistry preferred. 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification is preferred or ability to obtain within six months Must have a solid understanding of a Microsoft Office environment. All candidates MUST possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense.
