Katz & Dogs Animal Hospital is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician to join our team of one veterinarian, four veterinary technicians, and four veterinary care coordinators.
We offer veterinary medical, surgical, dental, and behavioral services in our beautifully renovated office in Upper Montclair, NJ. Our focus is on providing excellent service for our clients and patients while thoroughly attending to all our patients' medical needs. Our hospital opened in September 2002 and is rapidly growing, which provides an opportunity for each team member to advance in different areas of the practice.
We are looking for a team member who has well-developed technical skills, customer service experience, and enjoys interacting with individuals and their pets in a medical setting. Our technicians interact extensively with our clients and represent a trusted part of our medical team.
We practice in a state of the art hospital that has four examination rooms and includes a room for euthanasia, an isolation area, and modern surgical suite, a separate kennel for vocal patients, and divided housing for cats and dogs. We do not board pets, and after-hours emergencies are referred to an emergency hospital.
Our amenities include, but are not limited to: an oxygen cage, an Abaxis chemistry machine, a fully automatic autoclave, central oxygen and anesthetic scavage system, Isoflurane anesthesia, an ultrasonic dental scaler and polisher, an automatic x-ray processor, and a dental drill. We are fully computerized and we use Avimark veterinary software.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: obtaining medical histories, medical supervision of hospital patients, administering anesthesia, placing intravenous catheters, providing dental prophylaxis, monitoring surgical recoveries, capturing and developing radiographs, and preparing and analyzing laboratory samples.
Successful candidates will have the following characteristics:either be an experienced veterinary technician or recently graduated from an accredited veterinary technology program;have a pleasant, warm, outgoing personality and enjoy being a part of a team;be comfortable interacting with clients, with a variety of personalities;have a true love of animals, including a warm beside manner; take pride in providing first-class veterinary care of all animals and seek to make an active contribution;be seeking a long-term career position;full-time preferred, part-time potentially acceptable; all candidates must be willing to work some Saturdays.
