Directs both Technical Product Service and Pharmacovigilance (TPS & P) team and the Professional Service Veterinarians; include hiring, coaching, and provides technical training, education and support to sales, marketing, and external customers. Promotes Novartis to veterinary medical schools.

Manages and develops staff by hiring, training, evaluating performance, defining and assigning responsibilities, providing opportunities for education and career development, improving and assessing departmental policies and procedures. Provides technical support and advice to marketing, sales and R & D and provides technical training to sales and customer service through field and staff veterinarians to ensure consistent communication. Organizes and coordinates the US veterinarian school program including seminars, newsletters, and products to increase awareness of the organization and its products with potential service providers. Organizes and coordinates regular meetings and updates with key faculty and clients to increase product visibility.
Designs and conducts approved post marketing trials to provide information to trouble shoot, determine possible future challenges with, and provide marketing opportunities on all products.
Conducts new and existing product training to veterinarians to keep an informed network of doctors supporting company products to their clients. Researches new developments, investigates technical issues, and makes recommendations to marketing department on future product strategies.
Researches, captures and disseminates competitive research and development data and timelines to allow for accurate planning, forecasting, and budgeting. Oversee customer service monitoring and quality control function for TPS&P to include feedback to individual contributors. Provides technical expertise on all legal issues involving product safety to minimize company's risk of exposure. Oversees veterinary services budget by making expenditure recommendations, evaluating project costs, tracking internal expense and allocating available resources to control costs and operate within targeted goals. Participates in strategy development by interacting with and providing input to Regional Managers, Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications
DVM required. 7+ years post-graduate experience with 3-5 years of industry/practice.
Strong leadership skills with minimum 3 years in managing people and projects helpful.
Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory compliance experience. Knowledge of PC package tools, including but not limited to: word-processing (Word), Spreadsheets (Excel) database (Access) and Presentations (Powerpoint). Knowledge of business process and the ability to work within the general business hierarchy. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to perform financial and numerical analyses.
