Assistant Sr. Veterinary Technician

As an Assistant Sr. Veterinary Technician you will act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the Veterinarian to ensure the best quality Pet care and maximize the Veterinarian’s productivity by maintaining the flow of Pets.  You will act as an advocate for Pets and educate clients on all aspects of Pet health.

 

You will have the opportunity to perform procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance as well as complete preparatory work and monitor hospitalized or surgical Pets. You will educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, Pet health needs, diagnosis, treatment plans, and hospital services, and ensure other staff members do the same. As an Assistant Sr. Veterinary Technician, you will obtain and record relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts. You will ensure the safety of Pets, clients and team members by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs.

 

Additionally, you will work closely with other senior staff members to hire, train, schedule, and supervise the Veterinary Technician staff and ensure all staff members comply with local, state and federal laws. You will also have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills by mentoring and providing continuous development opportunities for other staff members.

 

Requirements for the position include:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, veterinary technician certification or licensure or 3 years' related experience preferred

· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Must be comfortable around Pets
