Technical Design Assistant

We’re looking for a Technical Design Assistant that understands our industry and clientele, can solve problems in a positive, creative way, and knows how to effectively assist in product development and quality control of apparel.  Check out the detailed job description and qualifications.  If you think you’ve got what it takes, hurry up and apply already!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

· Prepare all samples for fitting and attend fitting

· Assist in fitting and communicating technical changes/measurements specification to vendors

· Assist in spec development and grading

· Sample tracking

· Daily communications with vendors

· Responsible for getting all salesman samples from warehouse to R&D department

· Assist in field and in-house QC

· Additional administrative duties as required

 

Qualifications:

· Excellent communications skills

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong Excel and computer skills

· Must have some technical background, preferred women/junior background

· Must be able to well under pressure, and take directions

· Valid CA driver license and proof of insurance with reliable car

 

Education and/or Experience:

· Graduated from a fashion college

· Experienced and knowledgeable in pattern making and sewing

· 2 years apparel industry experience

 

Computer Skills:

· Strong knowledge of Outlook

· Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications: Excel / Word / Illustrator   

Physical Demands

· Work well under pressure, long hours (seasonal)

· Be able to stand for a long period of time and or sit for a long period of time

 

**This is not a creative/design position. The Technical Design Assistant will work within the Product Development department.**
