Inventory Planner

Major Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and communicate sales projections and current inventory positions for customer replenishment programs.  Communicate this information to sales reps., customer service personnel, and financial and operations management on a regular basis.  Coordinate domestic production.

 Primary Duties

1.  For each style and customer, develop sales projections by integrating past sales history, customer-supplied projections and current sales trends.

2.  Maintain spreadsheets showing available to sell versus inventory for each style and major customer.

3.  Monitor customer orders for changes in customer sales/order trend analysis.

4.  Maintain close communications with all Sales Reps., especially about changes to customer orders.

5.  For contract domestic production, develop production requirements and purchase piece goods and packaging materials.  Maintain records of net finished goods inventory vs. fabric inventory.

6.  For closeouts, identify styles and compile inventory information and recommendations.  Monitor orders for closeout goods.

7.  Monitor new customer orders and initiate new style setup as needed.

8.  Monitor A-T-S records, and investigate and report on all negative positions.

9.  Monitor “Open Bulk” reports and deliveries to ensure goods will be available to meet customer requirement dates.

10.  Develop and maintain open lines of communication with Sales Reps. and customer service personnel.

11.  Work with distribution and allocation personnel to prioritize customer shipments.

12.  Conduct special analyses as requested.Experience and Education

Five to ten years of inventory management and/or customer service experience in a soft goods environment. Prior retail experience in above capacity preferred.  College degree or equivalent experience.

 Technical Skills

Working knowledge of Excel and AS400-based systems; MS Word.  Good written and oral presentation skills.
