Assistant Product Developer

Assistant Product DeveloperFinancially stable, growing apparel importer specializing in activewear and outdoor lifestyle apparel. Our high-performance company is currently seeking an assistant import product developer/technical designer to become a member of the team. Three years' minimum experience required. Here, you will develop next season's garments and assure technical integrity so that we are "right" for the customer. Your ideas will translate into commercially viable products for our our retail and wholesale customers.
Extremely detail oriented individual with strong follow through habits is needed to assist product development manager in all phases of development, design, and pre-production approvals:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of technical packages, BOMs, trims & accessories, fabric & garment finishing.
2. Strong knowledge of sewing and construction details, ability to spec and grade garments
3. Monitor and guide all phases of the product development cycle from initial concept to pre-production fabric, fit, color, and spec approval, and including trim and accy details.
4. Candidate will be responsible to maintain company's Product Development time & action calendars and be meticulous about keeping our overseas factories on schedule for sample submits.
5. Candidate will have Intermediate experience with fabric development, color agencies, and Photoshop & Illustrator software.
6. Our product development coordinators travel with the sales team to customer appointments to insure accurate transfer of style/design/color/accy information. 7. Travel to national trade shows and to our overseas fabric suppliers also available for the motivated associate.
