Telecommunication Technician

Our customer in Tempe area has 3-5 immediate needs for Telecom/Data Communication Technicians.  Positions are available for Telecom/Data Communication Technicians I, II, and III's. Multiple shifts available. Please send resume as soon as possible for consideration.  POSITIONS START ASAP!!

Telecom Technician I  

 

Required skills and abilities: 

· Basic knowledge of voice communication systems.

· Capable of wiring/cabling and MAC efforts.

· Familiar with general technical duties and applies general technical knowledge to support issues.

· Works within established guidelines and processes.

· Requires day-to-day supervision.

· Works well in a team environment, providing information and support to team efforts.

· Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to listen and interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.

· Demonstrated ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership.

· Basic knowledge of basic ACD's on PBX platforms.

· Basic knowledge Wireless PBX's.

· Demonstrated ability to apply subject matter knowledge to resolve general support issues.

· Escalates to next technical level when appropriate.

·  Technical associates degree or equivalent experience and/or 1-2 years  

related experience.

 

 

 Telecom Technician II

 

 Required skills and abilities: 

· The same responsibilities of a Telecom Technician I as well as:

· Intermediate knowledge of voice communication system-support and administration.

· Basic Knowledge of local area networks.

· Working Knowledge of network architecture and switched operating system.

· Basic knowledge of network architecture and switched operating system. Familiarity with telecom battery systems.

· Basic knowledge of DC voltage.

· Ability to apply subject matter knowledge to resolve general support issues.

· Normally receives general instructions on all work.

· Acts as a team member by providing information and support to team efforts.

· Working knowledge of ACD's on PBX platforms.

· Working knowledge Wireless PBX's.

· Looks for opportunities to improve existing processes and workflow designs.

· Excellent written and verbal communications; ability to listen and interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.

· Demonstrated ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership. 

· Technical associates degree or equivalent experience and 2-4 years related experience.

· Training and Certifications.

· Intermediate knowledge of voice switch architecture.

· Basic knowledge of local area networks and switching architecture.

· Intermediate knowledge of communications color code schemes and basic wiring standards.

· Intermediate knowledge of 110 frames, 66 blocks, cross connects, and tie cable.

· Intermediate troubleshooting and problem solving phone skills. Uses quantitative data to draw conclusions.

· Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize computerized work order systems to perform issued work orders. Also maintains inventory of all associated parts.

· Network technicians will be trained to CAT 5/CAT 6 certification standards.

· Working knowledge of protocol analysis tools.

· UTP cabling installation, testing, and repair.

 

Telecom Technician III

 

Required skills and abilities: 

· The same responsibilities of a Telecom Technician II as well as:

· Intermediate knowledge of local area networks and voice communication system-support and administration.

· Experience in a large, high volume client environment.

· Intermediate knowledge of network architecture and switched operating system.

· Applies developed level of technical support knowledge, in one or more support areas, to solve common and complex technical issues within established guidelines and by recommending appropriate variances.

· Does not require day-to-day supervision.

· Technical associates degree or equivalent experience and five (5) or more year's related experience.

· Training and Certifications.

· Intermediate knowledge of local area networks and voice communication systems, support and administration.

· Intermediate knowledge of local area networks and switching architecture.

· Intermediate knowledge of managing network and voice capacity and expansion.

· Intermediate knowledge of data center operations and processes.

· Specialized knowledge of the PBX platforms and all associated telephone equipment and circuits.

· Intermediate knowledge of the switching architecture, hardware and troubleshooting.

· Specialized knowledge of technical documentation and communicate technical detail to associated work groups.

· Intermediate computer skills with the ability to utilize computerized work order systems to perform issued work orders.

· Has the ability to handle most unique situations.

· Acts as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities facilitates information validation and team decision-making process.

· Develops simple plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and efficient in meeting goals.

· Allocates own time and that of others efficiently. Handles demands on time and competing priorities.

· Initiates and develops relationships with internal and external contacts as a key priority.

· Demonstrated ability to recognize and react to situations with a sense of urgency.
