Description: Telelcommunication Technician The primary responsibility of this position is to provide network monitoring and 1 st level troubleshooting of the
SouthernLINC Wireless iDEN Network. The candidate filling this position must have the ability to perform and organize multiple simultaneous tasks in a fast paced, challenging environment. A solid technical mindset, strong problem solving skills, a detailed oriented approach, and interpersonal behaviors consistent with that of the Southern Style are essential for this role. The candidate strengths should include: communication skills, teamwork, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and proactiveness.

The Mobile Switching Office (MSO) serves as the SouthernLINC Wireless Network Operations Center (NOC) and is staffed 24 x 7 x 365. A rotating shift work schedule is required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Associates degree in computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications or equivalent work experience.
* FCC certification desirable
* Proficient at learning and retaining technical lessons

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*
Monitor all network events and alarms from various network managing sources.
*
Provide first level troubleshooting support of network alarms to diagnose problems.
*
Manage the workforce Trouble Ticketing system from start to finish. (creating, assigning, tracking, documenting, and closing out trouble tickets)

Provide daily phone support for field technicians, technical customer issues, and miscellaneous vendors within a telecommunication environment.
*
Assist with maintenance evolutions within the infrastructure which include the testing of T-1 circuit, cross-connect panel wiring, create & implement software configuration changes, replacement of faulty cards, and maintaining documentation records.

Review miscellaneous reports to identify issues/trends and address them.
