Sr. Subcontracts Manager

We are seeking a qualified Senior Subcontracts Manager to provide management of major development subcontracts and major subcontract assemblies and/or services in support of a program across multiple sites.  In this role, you will:

 

1) Contribute to Make vs. Buy decisions;

2) Liaise with Global Commodity Managers to identify potential suppliers for inclusion in selection process;

3) Identify supply chain plan to support bid/no bid decisions and manage supply chain risks through the development program;

4) Facilitate technical interchange with suppliers to improve the competitiveness of solutions through the opportunity evaluation, proposal and development phases;

5) Prepare Subcontract Strategy, and document, to support program requirements;

6) Support the creation of the cost model by providing input on the bought out content and assumptions;

7) Lead supplier selection through the identification of requirements, RFI/RFP process and determination of selection criteria and evaluation of proposals.

8) Identify key commercial terms from the contract, identify  strategies for flow down and incorporate into contractual documents;

9) Negotiate, approve and implement sub-contract agreements with selected suppliers incorporating identified contractual terms, technical specification and statement of work and subsequent changes to sub-contracts

10) Manage sub-contractor through regular performance and status reviews to achieve schedule program milestones and objectives

11) Systematically report to Program Management on sub-contract status, performance and risks

12) Prepare and maintain an integrated Risk Register for regular submittal to the Program Manager

13) Ensure sub-contractor has demonstrated capability and plans to support forecast program requirements ahead of handover to production procurement.

 

Show us why you're among the very best of the best in the field of subcontracts.  To qualify, you will possess 10+ years of professional experience in a complex, international organization, with preference given to experience in the Defense or Aerospace industry. You will have proven experience in managing multi-tier supply chain programs, advanced negotiations, and forecasting and will have been successful in work environments with minimal support infrastructure.

 

You will also possess

1. Experience within an IPT (Integrated Project Team)

2. Major subcontracts experience, or at minimum complex procurement experience

3. Product experience preferred; knows mechanical or electrical products and some of the more complex technologies

4. Program experience

 

Skills & Competencies

1) Should have teamwork, leadership skills and initiative

2) Should be familiar with industry requirements such as DFAR/FAR

3) Credibility, presence; self starter and closure-oriented

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.
