Inventory Planning & Traffic Administrator

 

Savers, Inc. currently seeks an Inventory Planning & Traffice Administrator to assist in the balancing of our merchandise that is supplied to our retail stores throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. This position will be based out of our Distribution Center in Fife, WA. This position will also assist in partnership supply, external shipping, freight and distribution requirements from third party suppliers/vendors, ensuring timely distribution of merchandise to our retail stores, management of supply logistics activities and operational linkages with Savers field management teams.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

-Monitor OK merchandise throughput (receiving and production) at a store, district and regional level in order to facilitate action to balance product supply within surplus and deficit locations based on budget targets.

-Use domestic transportation vendors who have approved rates and/or tariff pricing established by department manager that support the distribution of OK merchandise.

-Evaluate merchandise inventory levels within company operated Distribution Centers to support volume purchase agreements and re-distribution of product to inventory poor locations.

-Monitors carrier and vendor performance to determine if performance metrics are being met.

-Assists in the execution of established operational processes and procedures to achieve outstanding results in terms of inventory management and freight performance.

-Interfaces with cross-functional departments to achieve established targets.

-Ensure timely and accurate update of A/P systems for freight vendor invoice payables.

-Cross train within department.

 

General Requirements:

-High school diploma or equivalent.

-One to four years experience in retail transportation and distribution management.

-Knowledge of US import and export customs regulations.

-Knowledge of all transportation modes, including intermodal, domestic ocean freight, domestic airfreight, consolidation and distribution.

-Knowledge of distribution strategies.

-Demonstrated planning, logical analysis, problem solving and organizational skills.

-Demonstrated understanding of financial tools and their utilization.

-Strong customer service skills.

-Ability to interpret intermodal and over-the-road transportation tariffs.

-Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision.

-Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

-Strong relationship building skills.

-Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
