Commodity Specialist- Swift Transportation

Primary Purpose:  Develop and implement supply chain solutions related to commodity responsibilities

 

Essential Functions:

 

·  Experience in MRO's, Non-direct material contracts

·  Provides Supply Chain leadership

·  Conducts analysis of current spend by suppliers with an expertise in

  IT and facilities purchases.

·  Develops and implements commodity strategies

·  Negotiates agreements with suppliers to support the commodity needs of the business

·  Develops performance metrics to measure results

·  Leads quarterly supplier performance reviews, involving key internal customers and stakeholders

·  Support the e-Commerce strategy for the commodity

·  Expect and achieve a 5%+ Productivity improvement from commodities supply base.

 Skills Required: Strong technical knowledge of commodities buying, Keen negotiation skills, Agreement/contact administration, Good communication skills, Team player, Self-motivated and dedicated, Ability to drive projects to completion, Motivates team members to achieve results, Good decision maker, Computer skills including Microsoft Office

 Education Required:  4 year degree in Business, MBA preferred
