Buyer/Planner (Supply Chain Analyst)

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the proper flow of raw materials and finished goods in support of Sales, Production, and Inventory objectives. This position is driven towards continuous process improvements with the intent of streamlining the flow of materials from our supply base to our customers while guarding against inventory obsolescence.

 

Responsibilities include:

 
Ongoing maintenance of schedules for new products and buyer alerts for existing products to enable excellent communications within the department and with customers regarding product availability.
Analyzes, evaluates, reports and acts on new component replenishment requirements.
Releases replenishment orders to suppliers and monitors flow of inbound materials to ensure finished products are delivered to global customers as requested.
Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly reports (uncovered, GSE, PSR, sales forecasts) to identify and resolve any barriers to short-term and long-term balance of supply with demand.
Monitors raw material delivery and communicates changes to all affected parties for discrete POs.
Supports offshore assembly operations as necessary.
Leads or participates in Sales, Operations, Engineering and planning meetings to assist new product introductions and to resolve material or process issues on existing products.
Supports closeout programs withn general direction from management by initiating inventory balancing, rework, or procurement activities and in coordination with other analysts and sales.

 

Requirements:
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High degree of initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks.
Thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards, and techniques.
Some systems expertise (desktop & MRP/ERP applications)
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to large scope and complexity using company or departmental policies as guidelines.
Ability to work well with others in a cross-functional team environment.
Must be capable of managing several priorities effectively and be able to identify and recommend best course of action from several alternatives.
Strong SAP skills, thorough knowledge of all relevant SAP reporting, ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree, preferably in field relevant to job description (e.g., Operations, Materials Management), or equivalent job experience.
APICS (or other as appropriate) certified, or certification in progress and actively pursuing is desirable.
Minimum 3 years experience in relevant field.
