SINGLE MARINE PROGRAM ASSISTANT COORDINATOR - SEMPER FIT/ FITNESS DIVISION
RESUME OF DUTIES: Assist with planning a comprehensive program of social, cultural, educational, athletic, and recreational activities targeting single Marines and Sailors ages 18-25 years. The program addresses Quality of Life issues for single Marines aboard Camp Pendleton. Programming includes community service, furthering leadership and life skills, educational awareness, health and wellness, career progression, and recreational activities. Job duties include supervision of Single Marine Program Recreation Center. This includes creating and supervising all staff schedules, meetings, programs, activities, and tournaments at the facilities as well as ensuring safety, security, and sanitation inspections are conducted and routine maintenance is carried out. Resolves all complaints from patrons and solicits feedback to ensure that the best customer service is provided. Meets with area command and facility managers on a regular basis to maintain communication regarding any issues and upcoming events. Responsible for developing, scheduling, organizing, publicizing, directing, and evaluating both recurring and non-recurring activities. Coordinates special events and joint community programs which ensure effective use of outside sources. Assists in forming, coordinating and maintaining a network or “board” of Marines and Sailors to address QOL issues, develop and deliver programs and maintain communication with Marines on base. Assists in the preparation of annual operating budgets (APF and NAF) for inclusion in overall MCCS budget. Responsible for all supplies and equipment necessary for operations of the recreation center. Ensures proper internal controls are established. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have three years of recreation/leisure service management which demonstrates knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning, administering and conducting leisure time activities. Must have knowledge of Marine Corps and MCCS systems. Must have the ability to coordinate a large volunteer program with command, community, and civic leaders. Must have the ability to supervise large groups of people and have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field highly desirable. Travel occasionally required as well as working frequent nights and weekends.
