Corporate Fitness Center Coordinator

Job Purpose and Scope: Administer day-to-day operations of the corporate fitness facility.  Implement and develop training and fitness programs/services for company employees to promote health and wellness.  Study and recommend conditioning programs and training methods to help and motivate employees to meet their personal fitness goals.  Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer fitness tests (assessments, shadowing, exercise supervision) to prescribe exercise programs to assist employees with setting goals according to function and limitations.
Initiate, develop and coordinate fitness and wellness programs, including but not limited to:

-         Incentive programs

-         Weight Management programs

-         Nutrition Disease programs

-         Work/Life Balance programs
Maintain excellent relations with company employees and discuss goals to assist with fine-tuning programs for long term success.
Instruct individual clients on the proper methods of exercising according to their age and fitness abilities.
Motivate employees to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors that result in lasting improvement and health behavior changes.
Provide thorough equipment orientation/continuous floor supervision for safe and motivating work outs.
Market programs that promote and encourage participation and foster retention.
Monitor and coordinate equipment maintenance.
Assist with Health Fair planning and annual wellness screening.
Participate in strategic planning and performance reporting.
Coordinate and teach various group exercise classes.
Design and facilitate Personal Training sessions for various ability levels.
Assist with daily exercise leadership and operational tasks within the Fitness Center facility.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently.
PC applications knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Service Center).

 

Education:
Must have a degree or be pursuing a degree in exercise science, health promotion, or similar health related fields.

 

Experience:
2 – 4 years of work related experience.
A thorough knowledge of health, fitness, and wellness programming, exercise testing and evaluation.
A workable knowledge of budgeting and customer service.
Ability to coach and effectively lead people.

 

Certificates/ Licenses:
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
Fitness Certifications required.
