Anti-Doping Research, Inc. (ADR) is a dynamic new force in the fight against doping in sports.  It was founded in 2005 by Don Catlin, M.D., and colleagues, as an organization dedicated to addressing complex doping issues through research and testing.  Current areas of research are hot topics in congressional and media circles because they are vital to the future of sport.  They include improving detection methods for human growth hormone (hGH) and erythropoietin (EPO, a blood booster), two powerful and effective therapeutic drugs abused by athletes for doping purposes.  Thanks to our partners in the horseracing industry, we are also applying our extensive experience in human doping to the equine community to help solve its most acute problems.  Our clients include major sports organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and major horseracing groups in the United States. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

·  Daily operation and routine maintenance of analytical instruments

·  Receiving, preparation and analysis of service testing biological specimens

·  Development of analytical methods for research or testing service under the supervision of senior scientists

·  Perform routine methods including but not limited to: HPLC, electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, IEF, Western Blot, CE, and related methods.

·  Preparation of chemical solutions

·  Documentation and preparation of analytical results for technical reports or presentation

·  Other lab maintenance related duties

 

Qualifications

 

·  B.S. or M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry or related fields with at least 1 year of chemistry laboratory bench-work experience

·  Familiar with common chemistry laboratory equipment and safety requirement.

·  Able to perform sample preparation procedures for urine or blood specimens.

·  Hands-on experience with GC-MS or LC-MS-MS.

·  Experience with both types of instruments is highly desirable.   Hands-on experience with electrophoretic techniques, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, IEF, and common protein detection techniques including staining and immunoblotting is a sought after skill set.

·  Basic computer skills are required
