R&D Technician, API

Adecco Scientific is currently seeking a R&D Technician in API for our client located in Torrance, CA. This is a temp to hire position.

JOB FUNCTION:

The Research and Development Technician, New API Development will have a solid understanding of Organic Chemistry. He/she should have some hands on experience with laboratory chemical procedures, and knowledge of laboratory chemical safety. As a junior member of the Research and Development team, he/she will conduct developmental synthesis and purification of new API under the supervision of the senior research and development chemist.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform large-scale manual and automatic SPPS of new R&D projects and/or cGMP early investigation process.
2. Perform automatic SPPS with a CsBio instrument.
3. Perform new R&D purification procedure.
4. Contribute to the maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical HPLC and preparative HPLC.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Record process procedure to facilitate transfer of developed strategies to production.
2. Document analytical results for the benefit of production and other departments.
3. Contribute to the organization and upkeep of the research laboratories.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
2. Good English skills, both written and oral.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

1. Basic understanding of organic chemistry understanding, acquired through either academics or professional work experience.
2. Good computer skills - Word, Excel and Explorer.

2. Precise record keeping.
3. Knowledge and understanding of organic chemistry.
4. Proficient in use and maintenance of instrumentation.
5. Ability to add or amend pre-established procedures.
6. Enthusiasm and dedication.

10. Safe and proficient laboratory practice.
