QC Analyst I, Raw Materials

The Quality Control Raw Materials Analyst I is responsible for performing biochemical and chemical evaluations of all raw materials, and with experience, operates as a backup for testing in the Analytical and Microbiology Groups. The incumbent will be responsible for performing, under direct supervision, inspection, quarantine, aseptic sampling, and analysis of raw materials following established procedures under cGMP guidelines. Functions could include assisting with and performing a wide array of chemical analyses, including FTIR and spectrophotometric scans, physical analyses, aseptic techniques for sampling, method and equipment validation, and reagent preparation. The person will be responsible for the collection of vendor Certificates of Analysis and information via the internet or direct contact with vendors to develop specifications. Attention to detail is a requirement as Quarantine labeling is critical and must be performed without error.

Candidates must have a B.S./B.A. in Science (major in biology-biochemistry-chemistry) with approximately 2 years of relevant laboratory experience or A.S. with at least 4 years of relevant laboratory experience. Candidates must be comfortable lifting 50 pounds and must have a quality service attitude and be willing to work additional hours to meet production requirements. This role may be required to work second shift, overtime, weekends and holidays. Only local candidates will be considered.
