Postdoctoral Research Associate  (sr-0785)

 

Immediate opportunity in the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Department requiring a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Virology or relevant discipline with working knowledge of standard molecular biological techniques and experience in biochemistry and virology. Previous experience with respiratory viruses (in particular influenza), high-throughput assay development, and GLP compliance preferred. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. Excellent written skills are expected. The successful candidate will research the biochemical and molecular determinants of human influenza virus infection and replication. Additionally duties: assist in the development of moderate and high-throughput assays for vaccine efficacy and biochemical targets of the influenza virus; design assays; develop and follow protocols, SOPs, and GLPs; participate in the validation of assays and apply the developments toward research on the function of the influenza virus.
