Sales Representative - Milwaukee Area

SMART Papers LLC, a leading manufacturer of specialty paper products is seeking a self motivated, energetic, aggressive and experienced Sales Representative professional with strong selling skills to call on major paper distributors, printers and converters in Milwaukee area. Work would be from your home office, travel estimated at 50 to 60%. This candidate must have a strong sense of urgency to generate new sales, communicate effectively, possess strong business acumen and manage accounts in the territory.

 

This person will drive the sales relationship to the end-user, creating long-term volume business at the corporate end-user level. He or she will prospect for target accounts, research, develop and implement market and target account strategies and negotiate agreements leading to the acquisition of new corporate end-user business. Working with their Regional Sales Manager, the sales representative must ensure optimal growth in the territory.

The sales professional will work with external customers and distributors, as well as internal team members, to identify business opportunities, build relationships and provide solutions that lead to increased revenue.

 

General Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for sales and management of merchant and direct accounts

-  Conduct daily sales calls to meet established territory objectives

- Trains and equips distributor sales personnel

- Responsible for developing new accounts in the market

- Develops graphic designer and end-user relationships

- Maximize company product and margin goals

- Maximize grade mix to improve business margins

- Create and update weekly activity in contact/sales management database

- Provide support at national/regional trade shows

- Submit weekly expense reports and monthly territory reports and forecasts

- Update weekly activity in contact/sales management database

- Actively work with National accounts located in the territory in support of the National Accounts team

- Evaluate customer base and recommend changes to effectively manage market share goals

- Develop continual working business plan to support territory sales objectives

 

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent relevant experience)

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

- Knowledge of local marketplace

- Knowledge of paper industry, products and grades

- 2-4 years of paper selling experience

- Experience selling through merchants
