Sales Engineer

Axway is looking for a dynamic individual with high energy and drive to join our Sales Team as a Sales Engineer.

This position provides pre-sales support responsibilities include explaining the features and benefits of the product and comparing it to those of competitor's products; preparing and delivering product presentations to technical and management personnel; communicating with sales and product management teams regarding customer initiatives.  Additional responsibilities include the ability to present and teach product technical training courses; provide on-site support and product installation; integrating prototypes using the product for evaluation purposes; handling technical presentations at trade shows and conferences; managing isolation and support of technical problems; identifying additional client requirements; ensuring proactive communications with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 Five to ten years experience in the IT industry working with Internet related systems including systems programming and/or experience with systems administration on multiple operating systemsAn understanding of electronic commerce and/or EDI as well as an awareness of industry trends Project management experience to ensure efficient installationsExcellent communications skills; commitment to quality service and process improvement; professional presentation skills; self-starter; cooperative attitude; team player; ability and willingness to travel.  Foreign language skills a plus.

 

Technical Requirements:

  Knowledge of at least two operating systems: Windows, Unix, OS/400, OS/390 (Windows 98/NT/2000, Unix AIX/HPUX/Solaris, OS/400, OS390)

· Networking protocols and technology:  TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, DNS, WAN, LAN, VPN, LDAP, Internet, Intranet, Extranet.  Security technology:  PKI, CA, SSL, S/MIME, Firewall, HTTPSProgramming support in Java, EJB, shell script, CL, JCL a plus.
