Outside Sales Representative - Industrial Instrumentation

Outside Sales Representative Needed for Territory Encompassing Southern Alabama, Southern Mississippi, and the Panhandle of Florida


Thompson Equipment Company, a manufacturer, distributor, and manufacturer's representative for process control instrumentation for over 58 years, is currently seeking sales professionals for our growing business. 

 

Our primary customers are plants and facilities in the following industries: oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper, metal and mining, food and beverage processing, water and waste treatment, and power and electrical utilities.  We continually perform research and development to improve the measuring capability of these products, and to expand our line of measurement instruments.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A SELF-MOTIVATED, TEAM ORIENTED INDIVIDUAL TO CONTRIBUTE TO OUR OVERALL SALES PROCESS. 


The primary purpose and function of this position is to:


* Assist customers and provide application solutions;


* Develop a strong grasp of the features and capabilities of multiple product lines;


* Qualify leads, follow up with sales calls, and close;

 

* Maintain customer relationship database of relevant activities; and,


* Prospect for new customers, sales, and markets.


Ideal candidates will have:


* Successful backgrounds in technical and/or industrial sales;


* A blend of sales and technical skills;


* A strong customer service/solutions focus;


* Excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills;

 

* Prospecting and closing skills; and,

 

* Basic computer skills.
