Manager, Channel Sales

Position Summary: Manage a multi-functional sales team consisting of authorized non-employee sales agents. Function as a management advocate for channel partners. Manage the daily operational objectives for indirect sales activities within the assigned market.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related discipline, or broad experience and demonstrated competence in sales and marketing.
2.Seven to ten years of telecom related channel sales and/or direct sales experience to include three years of experience with direct exposure to agents or the equivalent in training and experience.
3.Proven people and management skills.
4.Demonstrated leadership ability.
5.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include presentations.
6.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7.Proven success in consultative sales.
8.Knowledge of current and developing communications products and services, and sales strategies for promoting the same.
9.Willingness and ability to travel overnight.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.PBX, Key and Centrex knowledge and experience.
2.Data knowledge - Cisco, 3Com, Frame Relay, ATM.
3.Wireless knowledge.
4.Knowledge of telecom standard services for business customers.
Responsibilities:
1.Manage indirect sales within an assigned market area to ensure the attainment of established district revenue and sales goals.
2.Manage results-driven focused channel partners that may be geographic or vertical-market based.
3.Manage relationships for revenue attainment as set forth in the Annual Sales Plan.
4.Recruit quality channel partners to offer CenturyTel services to potential customers within areas.
5.Act as a management advocate for non-employee agents and as a point of escalation for authorized agents. Navigate internal resources and departments to resolve issues and manage projects as required.
6.Responsible and accountable for managing the indirect quota.
7.Makes training recommendations and conducts sales training when appropriate.
8.Represent CenturyTel to the business community in the defined market to ensure revenue is generated and to maintain exception customer satisfaction.
9.Establish and manage a defined sales strategy for the assigned market. Develop and execute the defined plan and directing the development partnership and relationships.
10.Responsible and accountable for assignment, attainment, tracking and reporting of sales goals and results for the regional.
11.Monitor and report competitive conditions that exist within the region.
12.Responsible for the distribution and communication of information to authorized agents in the Sales market, including communications from the Region regarding new or modifications to services, products, regulations, standards, or compensation plan.
13.Ensure that timely reporting and accurate coding of Daily Time is occurring by market partners.
14.Other duties as assigned.
