Key Responsibilities:Serves as the Shenandoah Sensory subject matter expert. Develops and implements appropriate training, monitoring and reporting systems for sensory evaluation from incoming raw materials to finished product. Coordinates sensory evaluations associated with process qualifications and process changes. Uses established work instructions and procedures to train personnel in various sensory evaluation methods using all senses and applied to all steps of the brewing, packaging and distribution processes. Establishes and maintains levels of sensory expertise through screening processes. Ensures Quality Systems compliance, data integrity and integrates quality principles into operations for quality at the source ownership. Develops sensory monitoring systems for process owners to use to evaluate and optimize their processes and perform corrective action planning when necessary.Limits liability associated with product loss, with dollar impact that could range in excess of $1,000,000. Uses continual increases in knowledge of brewing and sensory science to guide process change. Acts as a consultant / liaison with brewing and packaging services when processes are changed to ensure product quality. Increase product consistency in the market, thus positively impacting repeat sales. Coordinates and participates in periodic audits of products, processes and materials, converting observed nonconformances or abnormalities into corrective action plans. Increase product consistency in the market, thus positively impacting repeat sales. Addresses customers' goals and anticipates future requirements in context of broader business requirements. Leads projects that drive continuous improvement in the brewing and packaging processes. Avoid and reduce Consumer Complaints that could result in loss of sales.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Science, Sensory Science, Food Science, or Brew Science5 to 7 years Beverage Sensory / product performance testing
