Research Technician - R & D

BAE Systems Advanced Ceramics, Inc. is a high tech manufacturer of advanced materials for armor, semiconductor and industrial applications.  We currently have an immediate opening for a  Sr. Research Technician for our R&D Dept. 

 

The applicant is responsible for making prototype parts and assemblies under direction of Research Engineer/s.  The applicant should be proficient at property measurements, batching of materials, use of processing equipment and the practices/functions of a laboratory.  The applicant should have good mechanical skills and attention to detail.  The applicant should be able to read engineering procedures, accurately perform work and possess both good record keeping and communication skills.

 

Requirements: Employees entering this grade will have a minimum of a high school diploma and should have some college coursework. Knowledge of algebra, chemistry or electrical or mechanical engineering/repair is considered a plus.  Senior Research Technician (Grade B) employee must have a minimum of (2) two years on the job experience at BAE Systems or in lieu of the two years experience: prior job related work experience of two years, and/or an equivalent educational background exceeding the educational level of a grade B requirement.

 

The applicant must be willing to work overtime and/or non-standard shifts as required to meet schedules.
