Biolase Technology, the world leader in dental lasers technologies develops and markets advanced medical and dental laser products and accessories to over 40 countries. The Waterlase MD dental laser system manufactured by Biolase has been recognized as the only system to use Er,Cr:YSGG laser technology in combination with fluid particles to perform various dental procedures including oral surgery. Procedures such as cavity preparations, root canals preparations, cosmetic gum re-shaping, periodontal therapies and other are done with more comfort using the Biolase systems and sometimes without a shot.  The Waterlase technology provides many clinical benefits to the patients and it represents a great asset to the clinician. 

 

Biolase is currently seeking a Research Scientist that will be working out of the Biolase headquarters located in Irvine, CA. This position will be responsible for the development process including evaluation and validation of biomaterials. Specifically, this position will be working on the preparation of various formulations and design of laboratory and field tests applicable to the development of such materials.  This position will also be responsible for the reporting of the results and the documentation related to design control.  Requirements and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 Develops and prepares formulations required for new products, for re-formulations or for testing and validation of such formulationsWrites protocols for various tests and validation proceduresDesigns and conducts experiments in the laboratory and in the fieldWrites and reviews detail documents explaining work you have done, the results and the interpretation of the resultsPrepares all documentation necessary for design controlWorks with laboratory equipment such as: pH meter, power meter, lasers, spectral analyzer, titration machine, etc.Able to write chemical reactions, interpret and discuss such reactionsVery good oral and written communication skills  Ability to work well independently and in a team

 

The ideal candidate is required to have at least 5 years of experience in research, with a solid background in Chemistry, a propensity for detail and excellent laboratory, computer and problem solving skills. Knowledge of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry is required; ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative data is a must. BS or MS of Science (Chemistry, Bio-chemistry or Materials Science) is required.
