We are seeking a qualified candidate who will be responsible for directing the development and successful application of advanced research methods in educational measurement and assessment. This leadership position directs the efforts of approximately 30 staff organized into distinct groups responsible for 1) quantitative methods, 2) scientific and statistical programming, and 3) research implementation. The development and implementation of standard procedures for managing and improving a large and complex set of research tools, including scientific software applications on multiple platforms, is required. This position has a leadership role with respect to applying advanced technology to data collection, analysis, and quality assurance to further enhance CTB 'S leadership standing and reputation in the educational assessment industry. Major responsibilities also include; planning, budgeting, recruiting, fostering the development of research staff, directing research activities, presenting and publishing research results.



Required:Ph.D. in Mathematical or Applied Statistics, Psychometrics, Biostatistics or related discipline. Seven years post-degree experience managing the successful development and application of quantitative methods in scientific research. Professional experience must demonstrate ability to develop and apply advanced statistical techniques to solve practical scientific and data analysis problems. Ability to contribute sound judgment and creative ideas to further CTB's research efforts. Proven ability to effectively lead, manage and develop professional staff. Proven track record of contribution toward defining research strategies to meet corporate objectives and/or customer requirements Ability to lead innovation while maintaining rigorous standards of quality control. Ability to communicate technical concepts accurately and effectively, both orally and in writing, to audiences with a wide range of technical backgrounds, including executive staff.

 

Desired:Advanced work in the application of Bayesian statistical analysis methods. Continuous demonstration of scholarly achievements and/or publications.
