Development Scientist
Department: Analytical Research and Development

This position performs and documents routine and non-routine Quality Control testing using a variety of analytical methods. Other responsibilities include participation in the validation and transfer of test methods, and reviewing, evaluating, and reporting analytical test results for product release and stability. This position is also responsible for coordinating the calibration/qualification of laboratory equipment, assisting in the generation of reports for regulatory filings, and participating in the development and maintenance of laboratory control systems.

The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree in chemistry or a related scientific field plus 5-8 years experience in a pharmaceutical company environment and at least 4 years experience in a cGMP regulated QC laboratory. Experience in the review and analysis of product release and stability data, and familiarity with HPLC, spectrophotometry, AAA and other methods employed in the analysis of peptides and proteins, are required. The ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment, set high standards and assume responsibility for scheduling and successfully completing assignments and tasks as required by company timelines is also necessary, as is the ability to negotiate and deal with others in a constructive manner.
