Bond Servicing Administrator
This position performs servicing functions of the Alaskan bond loan portfolio including interacting with borrowers, department management, and other departments in Simi Valley as necessary. Respond to mortgagor's/3rd party's telephone inquires or face to face meetings regarding real estate loans with Countrywide Home Loans in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for all phases of collection activity for real estate loans throughout delinquency until loan has cured. If the loan is submitted for foreclosure, the Loan Counselor will continue to make contact with the borrowers to explore foreclosure alternatives. Duties include communicating regularly and effectively with the mortgagors who are delinquent on their mortgage loans within department standards. This includes complete documentation of collection efforts (including communications, reason for default, payment plans, updated phone numbers and mailing addresses) within department standards. Will also explore alternatives to foreclosure within department standards. Answer and resolve customer service calls for both current and delinquent loans. Authorized to waive late charges as necessary. Will set follow-ups as needed to resolve the customer's request, escalating ongoing issues to Team Leader, maintain timeline, and autolog calls. Interfaces with other areas such as Production, Cashiering, Default, Property Claims, Assumptions and Reconveyance. Complete research for customer questions and issues in a timely manner.
Requires the ability to accurately apply loan administration knowledge (taxes, collections, foreclosures, insurance, assumptions, special loans, payoffs, payment processing and investor guidelines to internal/external customers. Must have strong communication skills. High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Requires knowledge of loan servicing, including Customer Service or Collections. Must have solid knowledge of mortgage banking or related industry to include familiarity with: TILA, RESPA, FSRA, FDCA, TICPA, SSCRA, as well as state and federal laws relating to financial privacy, fair lending, bankruptcy, workout, foreclosure, payoffs, escrow, and assumptions. Type a minimum of 30 words per minute. 10 key skills by sight. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and AS400. 1-2 years experience in Customer Service preferably in a Mortgage Banking environment or other related fields.
