Sourcing Agent/Buyer

C-Tech Industries is North America's largest manufacturer and distributer of aqueous cleaning equipment.  We are growing and we are currently seeking an energetic Sourcing Agent/Buyer for our Spraymart facility, located in Springdale, Arkansas.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and analyzing quotations and negotiating prices and terms with current and new suppliers; Coordinating quality, engineering and price changes between company components and suppliers; Developing new, qualified supplier contacts; Preparing analytical reports.  The candidate must have a  good knowledge of materials and production process.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Place initial purchase orders to appropriate vendors based on cost and schedule requirements and monitor to ensure items are received.

2. Negotiate price, delivery and returns with vendor or supplier.

3. In conjunction with Quality Assurance, qualify new vendors and suppliers.

4. Place orders with vendors for raw materials/MRO and capital utilizing the MRP for quantities and required delivery date

5. Input purchase orders into the computer system, print purchase orders and verify for accuracy.

6. Prepare requests for proposals

7. Assist with any delivery and or payment problems.

8. Assist Company personnel with information requested on purchased items

9. Complete miscellaneous projects, including vendor performance reports, contract updates, Dun & Bradstreet reports.

10. Introduce new cost saving ideas and components to the appropriate departments.

11. Develop inspection criteria and coordinate any testing that may be required to maintain quality standards.

12. Conduct annual price negotiations with top suppliers.

13. Identify goals of cost savings and quality levels.

14. Strong negotiation skills.

 



PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Requires a minimum of three years experience in a buying position, preferably in a manufacturing setting with preferred experience in the Steel and Heavy Duty markets.  Requires the equivalent of a high school education. (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred) Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.  Prior experience with MRP and inventory control systems required. Must be able to work in a matrix organization. Knowledge in SAP/R3 and bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Must be willing to travel globally.
