Raw Materials Buyer

ATI Alldyne Powder Technologies is one of the world's leading producers of tungsten and tungsten carbidel metal powders.  We are seeking qualified applicants for the following position to help us meet the growing demands for our products.

 

This position is responsible for sourcing and procuring tungsten-containing scrap materials on the open metals market at the lowest cost possible while complying with company guidelines, policies, and procedures.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



· Develop new sources for tungsten-containing materials

· Negotiate with vendors for the best material / price

· Manage purchase material cost base

· Interface with manufacturing and inventory control to meet delivery dates and production requirements.

· Manage the vendor base; supplier selection, supplier performance, and supplier development

· Act as liaison between requisitioners and vendors

· Act as liaison between Receiving and vendors

· Act as liaison between Quality Assurance and vendors

· Accounts Payable problem resolution

· Will perform other reasonable and related duties as assigned

 



Skills/Knowledge Required:



· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GLOVIA is a plus

· Knowledge of material cost analysis

· Knowledge of Commodities Markets

· Proven cost reduction record

· Demonstrated skills in inventory /material management concepts

· Supplier management and negotiation skills

· Good oral, written, and interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in this position

 

 Experience Guidelines:

· Three or more years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

· Buying of commodity type materials (tungsten and molybdenum), shop supplies and equipment

 

Education Guidelines:  Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.  A purchasing certification (C.P.M.) is a plus.
