Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator

The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator position will provide purchasing and replenishment duties to keep inventories at target levels and avoid out of stock situations.  The position will be responsible for a placing purchase orders, working collaboratively with suppliers and making recommendations for improving the supply chain and lowering costs for the business.  Logistics responsibilities include scheduling shipments and working collaboratively with internal and external warehouses.  In addition, the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator will work closely with Sales & Marketing to successfully execute new product launches and support business events.  Successful candidates will be analytical team players with a successful history of multi-tasking and achieving results.  This position will be accountable for continuous and timely communication to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities will include:Manage the requirement planning process, decide when to place orders based on inventory and sales projections.  Place purchase orders for components and finished goods, provide consistent follow-up and communication both internally and externally.  Work closely with suppliers to create a reliable and effective supply chain to support business goals. Analyze and recommend cost savings measures.  Track inventory at company owned and outside warehouses.Coordinate transportation for efficient distribution.

Qualifications: A degree in Business or related field is desired.Background in inventory management and/or purchasing would be ideal.Strong Customer Service skills needed (articulate, calm under pressure).A high level of skill in Excel and other Microsoft applications.Organized, effective, problem solver who is self motivated.  Must be able to deal well with ambiguity and change, as well as take on new and different responsibilities as needed.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
