Established in 1972 in Long Beach, California, TABC/Toyota is the oldest Toyota North American manufacturing company. TABC/Toyota produces sheet metal components, spare parts, catalytic converters, coated catalytic substrates, and steering columns for Toyota’s North American Manufacturing Facilities and for export to Japan and Canada. Job Duties

 

** Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, services and supplies from vendors.

** Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.

** Establish partnerships with key suppliers that will ensure us the deepest cost savings, and you will design metrics to capture vendor performance and problem resolution.

** Other duties on an as-needed basis.



Skills Required

** Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Business Administration or Economics

** Minimum of 5- 7 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent/Buyer

** Proven track record of negotiating cost-effective contracts

** Familiarity with Internet as a sourcing tool

** Experience with Mapics is a plus

** Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and exposure to Access is desired

** Excellent time management, organizational, decision-making and consultation skills

** Effective written/oral communication skills

** Ability to work independently and interact well with all levels within organization

** Great team player orientation.
