Job Summary: seeking a procurement professional to procure goods and services to support production schedule demands. Will primarily be responsible for buying raw materials including chemicals, fragrances, and extracts both domestically and internationally. Additional responsibilities may be assigned including components, MRO, services, shipping & packaging purchased items. This person will interface with various internal departments (sales/marketing, planning, procurement, production, logistics, finance and QA organizations) to accomplish business objectives for our growing organization, and contribute proactively to ensuring cost reductions, acceptable quality products from suppliers, inventory management controls and on-time delivery performance.

 

 

Job responsibilities:

· Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics

· Ensure timely and accurate entry of purchase orders and change notices.  Helps resolve production related issues involving purchased materials.

· Develops RFQ’s and evaluates results ensuring Best Value Procurement awards.

· Works to identify qualified suppliers; negotiates Purchase Agreements and monitors supplier performance.

· Reviews all open orders and addresses any areas of concerns with implementing corrective action plans where required.

· Prepares and develops reports and presentations for management meetings and reviews.

· Works to accomplish goals and objectives set by management.

 

****This position has no supervisory or direct report responsibility.

 

Education/Experienced requiredBachelors degree mandatory 2-3 years CPG Personal Care and/or Food company experience purchasing chemicals and raw materials required.Advance procurement training including LTA’s, Strategic Sourcing, Inventory Management, Cost – Quality – Delivery metrics tracking highly desirable. Oracle experience is a strong plus

 

Job Skills required/Sought:

 Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and includes active listening behavior Must take ownership and responsibility of all assigned purchasing categories. Must be able to generate spreadsheets and write letters using MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project software. Must be a team player and be able to work effectively with others. Should encourage a common team vision and a “can do” attitude. Manage time efficiently and achieve schedule deadlines Should be a strategic thinker, assertive and able to make informed decisions and develop recommendations independently and in a timely fashion. Should be a proven problem solver with ability to define problems, collect data, conduct root cause analysis, develop fact based corrective actions and recommendations.Some travel may be required (up to 25%).
