Buyer

First Solar, a high-tech., state-of-the-art, rapidly growing developer and manufacturer of thin film Photovoltaic (PV) technology in solar modules located in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a results oriented Buyer to work in our Central Services department.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for obtaining bids and placing orders for supplies, materials and equipment; negotiate prices with vendors, qualify new suppliers and plans inventory levels according to established guidelines and in a cost efficient manner; responsible for purchasing one or more production material commodities and production consumables.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or related field, five or more yrs. purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Purchasing field. This position requires organizational skills with the ability to prioritize; proven MRP and computer skills, including MS Office or equivalent; demonstrated negotiation skills, and excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
