Regulatory Project Manager

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A minimum of seven years experience in managing complex projects and/or leading project teams. Must have a demonstrated experience in effectively planning, organizing, and managing projects that have major financial, operational, or strategic impact to the Company. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex technical and strategic issues under rigid time constraints. Must have demonstrated experience negotiating effective resolutions of issues, both in internal team settings and in external forums involving industry stakeholders and regulatory commission staff. In addition to effective oral and written communication skills, the successful candidate must have strong organizational and leadership skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of ratemaking theory and practices, as well as CPUC and FERC regulatory procedures and policies, is required. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience as an expert witness in regulatory and ratemaking proceedings.

Preferences:
Degree: MBA/MA/MS. Experience working on FERC-related regulatory and ratemaking matters.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will report to the Manager of FERC Rates and Regulation. This position will lead interdepartmental efforts to develop and defend regulatory and ratemaking filings before FERC. The successful candidate will direct teams in formulating a proposed Company position, presenting that proposal to senior management for approval, and effectively developing and defending the proposal at FERC. The successful candidate will provide technical, analytical, and policy support and guidance to management on complex FERC-related regulatory and ratemaking issues. This includes presenting expert testimony in regulatory and ratemaking proceedings before FERC. The successful candidate will provide case management and technical support for FERC rate cases. This position will manage the Companys participation in joint efforts with the CPUC and other utilities in California involving litigated cases and settlement discussions at FERC.
