Project Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

The is responsible for engineering activities required to introduce new equipment and technologies to the facility.  Desires refinery or familiarity working with lead bases products, not required.             

 

II.            PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·                     Create and maintain monthly PEA project update reports

·                     Provide engineering input into new projects requested for development

·                     Develop specifications and work to minimize costs associated with introduction new technology to the plant

·                     Develop, design, submit projects for approval and manage approved projects to improve plant production effort

·                     Complies with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs.

·                     Other duties as assigned.

 

III.           PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:.

·                     BSME, BSCHE, BSEE, BSIE or equivalent experience.

·                     5+ years hands on experience in heavy manufacturing industry, mechanical systems troubleshooting, design, fabrication, manufacturing, installation and operations.

·                     Additional experience desired:  Metals recovery, smelting and converting; ferrous and non-ferrous metals selection and application; high temperature refractory and metals selection and application; large capacity air/gas/02 fired furnaces; CMMS and MP2 applications, implementation, and utilization; SCAQMD, OSHA, NIOSH, Industrial Ventilation requirements, permitting, Standards and Regulations; QS9000 awareness.

·                     Job instructional training

·                     Quality system familiarization

·                     EMS ISO 14001 awareness.  Plant EMS objectives and targets

·                     Significant environmental air aspects and impacts

·                     Support of plant JTE initiative
