Program/Project Coordinator
Job Requirements:
Degree: BA/BS; License: CA Drivers License. Successful candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Typically possesses five or more years experience in planning, coordinating and implementing educational seminar and event activities. Demonstrated working knowledge of seminar, technical presentation, event and off-site planning, development, coordination and seminar implementation. Demonstrated knowledge of energy efficiency technologies related to energy use. Demonstrated strong leadership, problem- solving, interpersonal, and communications skills for building team relationships, resolving conflicts, and interfacing with internal and external organizations. Demonstrated experience to project manage multiple projects. Demonstrated experience to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Demonstrated basic skill level with MS Excel and MS Word. Demonstrated experience in providing functional direction to support staff and others to accomplish work. Demonstrated experience in working with statistical and financial information, performing cost analysis and managing budgets. Experience in administering contracts and writing basic specifications for contractor/vendor performance.
Preferences:
Degree: BA/BS. Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Business Administration, Liberal Arts or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably a minimum of two years. Knowledge and experience in working with Energy Efficiency subjects. Good public speaking skills. Knowledge of Lotus Notes. Demonstrated knowledge in cost analysis,modeling and/or invoice procedures and cost tracking. Demonstrated experience in budgeting and controls. In-depth understanding of seminar development and event set-up, teardown, food catering and possible contingencies. Ability to instruct classes on subjects of basic electricity and general energy use. Must be able to work beyond normal work hours to coordinate seminars, events, activities, resources, and planning requirements to assure thorough and timely completion while under constraints, and adjusting to changing conditions, and priorities.
Typical Responsibilities:
Manages and/or administers key activities in support of specific programs and/ or large projects. In lead capacity, plans, develops, markets and coordinates the design, logistics, scheduling and implementation of AGTACs educational program activities involving the offering of more than 100 seminars per year to more than 1,500 customers. Monitors and approves expenditures for assigned programs/projects. Researches, analyzes, recommends and takes corrective action on program effectiveness studies, customer satisfaction information, seminar material and other activites to deliver a robust and technology-related educational program. Primary educational focus is on subjects of energy efficiency and new technologies that use electricity. Works directly with subject matter experts to develop class format and educational material content. Coordinates activities with vendors, instructors,AGTAC staff and internal/ external organizations. Gathers documents and data, issues reports, performs cost analysis and works with excel spreadsheets. Provides functional direction to staff in the execution of program activites, business event coordination and projects. Some before/after-hour work required, especially on day-of seminar or event. Acts as a consultant to management on specific programs and/or functional areas. Administers contracts and writes specifications for the hiring and performance of class instructors, vendors and others. Serves as back- up to AGTAC Manager of Projects & Products and other AGTAC staff in his/her absence.
