Business Systems Analyst
J.B. SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible to manage all aspects of IT projects for the Dedicated Contract Services (DCS) division, including ROI evaluations, project coordination, project status communication, and audit ROI actuals. To analyze, develop, and deploy “systems” strategies for DCS. This position consists of the research, development, implementation and training for the execution of processes, procedures and the use of technology that will solve problems and ensure that business practices are at the forefront of the industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Ensure standardized return on investment practices for all projects.
2. Responsible for report development based on management and customer requirements.
3. Ensure standardized return on investment practices for all projects.
4. Focus attention and development around areas of cost savings or productivity with a “systems” plan of development.
5. Ensure adherence by a standardized report and communication forum to review IT projects with key IT personnel, and financial and business owners.
6. Assist with related new technology assessments.
7. Assist with standardizations around technology direction (architecture).
8. Develop survey tools for driving fleet and office personnel.
9. Ensure adherence by a standardized report and communication forum to review IT projects with key IT personnel, and financial and business owners.
10. Successfully develop and deploy training to users to minimize training related problem records.
11. Responsible for performing preliminary analysis and evaluation of project requests, assist and provide detailed information for a rough scope of effort required and potential benefit.
12. Responsible for translating high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and, if necessary, manage requests for changes to those specifications.
13. Obtain a thorough understanding of the data model for the areas supported.
14. Perform in-depth account analysis to understand business and reporting rules.
15. Assist the business in determining which business requirements can and should be automated and how these automated functions are integrated into the rest of the business and technical processes.
16. This position may also support the development of high-level project definitions and the initial time and cost assessments for projects. Additionally, the position will participate in determining expected return on investment and verification of return after project completion.
17. Exercise good business judgment to determine the appropriateness of solutions in reducing cost and/or improving productivity.
18. Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of business processes and goals.
19. Obtain a complete understanding of the business requirements for each project assigned.
20. Define the implementation plan for all projects, own that implementation and assure that the delivered systems are used thoroughly and correctly.
21. Stay informed of all new business ventures not only in the assigned functional area, but in other business units as well and determine how development can be leveraged to provide additional value. Communicate the ramifications of those ventures to the technology team.
22. Become familiar with all key business partners and insure that communications from and to those partners and frequent and complete.
23. Coordinate user acceptance testing and sign off on suitability and accuracy prior to install.
24. Act as a consult for other groups with the above.
25. Able to travel as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Fifth year technical degree; six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and five years management experience.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES
Must be able to accomplish large projects through indirect management. Capable of balancing 20 or more projects simultaneously. Position requires working knowledge of I.T. methodology and familiarity with software development processes. Strong aptitude for learning and teaching new technology, coupled with creative ability. Job requires that you be both imaginative and practical.
