Product Manager (In-Line Products)

The Existing Product Manager will work in coordination with key stakeholders in Operations, Legal Affairs, Generic R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to assure maximization of product life cycle of existing products. The candidate will identify issues, analyze multiple product scenarios, make recommendations to senior management, and implement changes to projects to maximize the value of our existing product line.
Responsibilities:
* Develop action plans for existing products, and coordinate the implementation of those plans with the sales and marketing team.
* Stay abreast of issues regarding existing products by maintaining regular open communications with Project Management, Team Leaders, and by attending team meetings and working closely with sales and marketing management.
* Collect and assimilate feedback and information regarding future of existing products from Sales and Marketing.
* Monitor information regarding existing products from external sources such as customers, industry news services, press releases, competitor’s news releases, market research, monitor post marketing safety issues, etc.
* Identify challenges and opportunities, which impact existing products, and develop multiple scenarios for solving problems and/or maximizing the impact of product opportunities.
* Prepare detailed analysis of the product scenarios, and develop recommendations for senior management review.
* Determine downside/upside potentials and the impact of competitive activity
* Prepare analysis and present recommendations to senior management in the marketing needs for the existing products.
* Identify and implement product enhancements where applicable, which would help to differentiate existing products from those of our competitors.
* Assist in development of forecasts and budget analysis
* Monitor and adjust sales budgets, pricing and forecasts of existing products. Participate in the Work Plan Process. Maintain and publish database of all active existing products.
* Work closely with sales force, forecast, finance and pricing personnel to assess market trends and make appropriate recommendations to Manufacturing/Production on necessary adjustments to meet market demands and competition.
* Assist with financial impact reports that provide management with crucial decision-making information regarding contract price and market trends of existing products.
* Create applications and tools that facilitate and automate process to increase efficiency and productivity to better analyze existing products trends in the market place.
* Demonstrate flexibility and knowledge to work and help to cover other areas of responsibilities within the sales/marketing department when necessary.
Requirements:
Job Requirements (Training, Education, Skills and Experience):
* Required skills: strong analytical skills, assertiveness, oral & written communication skills, interpersonal leadership skills, problem solving, managing multiple tasks and projects, operating in a dynamic matrix environment, time management, adherence to deadlines, accountability, creativity.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge and Training:
* Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in science preferred, MBA degree considered a plus.
* Experience: 5+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry required, with prefer working knowledge of R&D and/or Regulatory Affairs. Direct working experience in project management, sales, marketing, or manufacturing operations is considered a plus.
* Computer skills (Minimal): Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, database skills. Spreadsheet proficiency, ability to developing tools to increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity is a plus Access experience, Ad Hoc analysis ability, Knowledge of software / vendor availability for forecasting.*Other:

Ability to understand dynamics of familiar and unfamiliar marketplaces
Strong presentation and communication skills
Understand importance of qualitative factors in forecasting
Experience in Bids and Contracts / Charge back process a plus
Experience in working with GPOs, major pharmaceutical wholesalers and specialty distributors
