Essential Job Description:

 

Overall coordination and management for specific product(s) or product line(s) from conception, through definition, development, release to production and introduction into the market place.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Analysis of competitive and market data as well as Line 6 forecast and historical sales data.Research, identify and define new products, features and requirements that provide superior solutions, competitive advantage and high-value benefits to the customer.Participation in the quarterly new product planning process (with Engineering, Product Definition, & Sales/Marketing).Management of specific products through the development path from concept through launch and 1st year in the market.Represent the voice of the customer to the development team, and Sales/Marketing from ideation through launch.Reporting progress/status of related projects.Development of internal positioning statements that are the basis for all external messaging created by Product Marketing.Point person for communication of product details and positioning to Product Marketing and Sales in support of development and execution of launch plans, product reviews, etc.Development (with Engineering and Product Design.) of all related feature sets, functional specifications, and user manuals.Development/coordination (with Sound Design, Visual Design and Engineering) of hardware, models, software applications, graphic user interfaces. Development/participation (with QA) of Beta tests for related products.Coordination/execution of product training, support documentation. Accountability for defining and achieving goals and targets for product quantities, revenue and profitability.

 

Experience/Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.At least five years related music industry experience. Committed musician with extensive gear/software knowledge and experience – specifically with regard to computer recording applications and hardware.Deep understanding of the guitarist’s perspective.Experience in Retail, QA/testing and/or Support is desirable, but not required.

 

Skills Required:

  Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a diversity of individuals and to evaluate situations and to act quickly.Business computing skills are essential (Microsoft Office).Demonstrated abilities to manage projects and budgets (sales, marketing, product design, engineering, manufacturing, etc.).Ability to create effective plans, as well as manage diverse and multiple tasks while balanceing short and long term goals.Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build consensus across functional boundaries.Ability to work extended hours and occasionally travel with minimal notice.
