Purpose of Position

Develop and manage product portfolio to achieve growth and profitability targets.

 

    Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategies

· Design and implement 5 year platform roadmaps.

· Develop understanding market requirements and evolve platforms and products to meet needs.

· Develop and implement product and platform offerings to meet various arena requirements, while minimizing product variants.

· Set and monitor product cost and reliability levels.

· Set standard product definitions.

· Develop product rationalization policies.

Product Development

· Determine product development priorities and monitor Product Development projects to ensure timely, cost-effective completion.

· Establish priorities for research activities to support product development.

Management of Existing Product Platforms

· Set cost-reduction and product improvement priorities for Product Team.

· Implement platform/product rationalization policies and plans.

· Lead and manage cross-functional product teams.

· Provide technical expertise for product applications/uses.

 

Relationships

Internal – Arena and Market Managers & product teams.

External – Best Practice Suppliers; other best practice Product Managers.

 

Measures of Performance

· Cross organization clarity on future product roadmap.

· Effective translation of Voice of Customer and Product Offering Requirements.

 

  Background and Skill

· Engineering degree required or equivalent.

· Product development and strategy development experience.

· Solid leadership, and organizational skills.

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain healthy cross-functional relationships.
