Product Manager

Summary:

 

Develops, implements and manages product marketing activities to provide optimum sales and profits to assigned product line.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

 

· Manages all aspects of marketing programs for specified product(s)

· Determines short and long term strategies and tactics for product marketing

· Evaluates effectiveness of programs and concepts

· Understanding of product features, benefits, pricing, positioning and advertising

· Designs, develops, and executes marketing strategies and directs advertising and promotional activities as related to product(s)

· May include research and evaluation of new products

· Monitors financial measures set for assigned product lines and makes recommendations for program modifications

· Maintains and analyzes accurate records of pricing strategies, price changes, margins and operating incomes of specified product lines

· Reviews and provides analysis on accessories and options regarding pricing, refinements, profitability within designated product lines

· Attends trade shows when requested

· Assists Marketing Manager to establish a research plan for each product line to be contained within the marketing plan

· Execute customer communications concerning product line or program modifications

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents

· Effective oral and written communication skills (demonstrated ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; write speeches and articles for publications)

· Demonstrated presentation skills

· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry (Must be able to accurately calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume)

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· Proficient use of Microsoft applications Word, Excel, Power Point, Web-based applications
