Our client is looking for a success driven Sr. Product Engineer - location Garden Grove MAIN JOB FUNCTION: The on time delivery of allocated projects as delegated by the Team Leader or by the Technical Director. Work as part of a small team of embedded software engineers in the development of embedded applications for the US market - from initial specification, planning and design through to test and production release. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical management •To work closely with the Team Leader on bringing projects to fruition and to the agreed technical specifications. •Provide detailed plans and appropriate documentation, reporting regularly on project status, delivering a completed, working and tested project to agreed timescales. Embedded software development •Task and project estimation •Design and coding of embedded software applications in 'C', at both an application and BIOS level •Enhancement and maintenance of an existing code base. •Liaison and assistance to the US during the test phase •Support of applications post production release •Provide supporting documentation - when required •Close liaison with the In-Vehicle Products Team members to ensure code base continuity Leadership •Provide technical 'mentoring' when required to Software Engineer •Discuss progress and issues on projects responsible for.

Qualifications :
Advanced .Net C++, REQUIREMENTS: Ideally a degree in Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science/IT 7+ years experience of designing embedded software Must have experience in software development lifecycles, the use of source control systems and have a systematic approach to design. Strong software design skills in 'C', with Win32/MFC/C++ an advantage Experience with low level, processor interactive code is important Strong experience with comms and binary based protocols Automotive bus experience (J1708/J1939) a strong advantage Knowledge and experience with wireless comms technologies a distinct advantage Able to work to tight deadlines Be able/prepared to reverse engineer code - not be discouraged by scant documentation Technical software project management experience for hands-on development involving a small number of developers.
