Position Summary

 

Leads the Spa and Salon services and retail staff in the promoting and providing of sales, services, and products that exceed customer expectations. Drives revenue and oversee the department's operations, financial levels, and ensures excellent customer service. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of the Life Spa Department team members. Provides leadership for the department in the fulfillment of Life Time Fitness' mission statement.


Examples of Work Performed

1. Provides leadership at Spa front desk while scheduling and booking client appointments
2. Serves as the liaison with Salon technicians
3. Sells and promotes retail products including add-on products and services to clients
4. Resolves customer service issues
5. Ensures department's compliance with Federal and State health rules and regulations
6. Responsible for purchasing and inventory control
7. Provides periodic financial and performance reports
8. Provides budget information and maintains the budget
9. Completes daily bookkeeping and payroll paperwork
10. Orders and inventories products monthly
11. Responsible for the leadership and performance excellence of the team by training, modeling, developing, and assessing all team members to ensure continuous growth
12. Recruits, interviews, and trains new team members
13. Makes hiring recommendations subject to the review and approval of the General Manager
14. Trains and develops staff and Assistant Department Heads through quality orientations, direction, and feedback
15. Sets goals and performance expectations for the team 
16. Provides effective performance evaluations and employee recognition programs / awards
17. Coaches and counsels staff to build the business
18. Makes recommendations on promotions and terminations of staff; takes appropriate disciplinary action subject to the review and approval of the General Manager
19. Supervises assigned staff



Minimum Qualifications

 

Education: 
High school diploma or GED
College coursework or undergraduate degree preferred

 

Experience:
One year of retail sales experience
One year of customer service experience
One year of supervisory experience
Experience in a retail salon or spa setting preferred
Cash handling and recordkeeping experience preferred
