Job Summary:

Responsible to the Regional Vice President for all contracts, office, yard, trucking and auction operations. Responsible for day to day operations of the branch.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provides support to the RVP as needed and manages the office/clerical staff, truck drivers, loader operators and yard workers. Manages daily work effort of all branch office staff. Plans, schedules and assigns the timely pickups and deliveries of clients' salvage vehicles with IMPACT drivers and independent towing companies. Coordinates dispatching with depot and other IMPACT locations. Maintains economic, efficient transportation of pickups, deliveries and inter-company transports. Monitors independent towers, efficient selection of runs, timely pickup of vehicles and security for incoming autos from the depots.

Recommends and participates in hiring and firing of staff in conjuction with the RVP. Assures that all drivers, yard and clerical employees are properly trained with respect to their specific job functions, job safety, and other training needs. Monitors staff to assure that company policies and procedures are being followed. Assures that pickup orders, file diaries, invoicing, dispatching, salvage title processing, check forwarding and buyer account collections are done efficiently. Reviews work flow weekly and resolves any problems. Completes all performance reviews and makes recommendations for pay adjustments within guidelines established by management.

Responsible for prompt pickup, inventory and placement of incoming vehicles. Ensures efficient flow of completed paperwork to the office. Assures that incoming vehicles are properly inventoried and correctly placed in yard. Assures that the vehicles are placed in the correct auction slots on time. Coordinates and assure that all pick up orders are cleared in a timely manner to reduce late pickups and maximize truck efficiency.

Prepares the auction. Reviews and appraises auction vehicles prior to sale. Sets minimum bids where necessary. Verifies the auction list. Clerks the auction. Makes decision to sell or pass on vehicles during the auction. Expands the buyer population. Maintains positive relationships with existing clients, buyers and support vendors.

Handles negotiations, purchases and sales of contract vehicles to ensure highest possible returns.

Monitors all incoming and outgoing traffic, including deliveries to customers, removal of vehicles by authorized persons, and residential pickup.

Responsible for start & rate, reconditioning of vehicles, pro-wrap, and preparation of flood vehicles. Secures all approvals necessary to complete start & rates, pro-wrap, and minimum bid approvals.

Oversees the consistent production of digital images of salvage inventory to meet the requirements of web-based services.

Participates in the development and enforcement of the ADESA Impact safety program. Assures that all employees supervised receive proper training in accordance with established procedures. Heads branch safety committee meetings. Prepares accident reports after interviewing driver or other employee who has had an accident/incident. Reports accidents to our insurance company.

Maintains all driver records and other documents as required by law and by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Keeps daily or weekly records as needed. Coordinates with the Human Resource Department in the home office in keeping all supervised employees' files current. Maintains all other necessary paperwork.

Supervises the upkeep and maintenance of the building and grounds including necessary repairs to the facility, surface condition, fence, gates, signs, lights, trimming of lawn and shrubs and snow removal. Procures cleaning/janitorial services, security coverage, uniform service for employees and telephone services. Secures agreements with independent towers and monitors the quality of service provided by these towers. Monitors the volume done by independents to maintain an optimum level in relation to IMPACT drivers. Solicits competitive bids for yard work, snow removal, and building maintenance.

Completes necessary ?Equipment Bid Spec List? as outlined in the heavy equipment procedures.

Responsible for maximizing all revenue items within the branch operation.

Performs other related duties as needed.
