SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description:

This individual will be part of an experienced SAP Basis team that provides administration (post implementation customization) and oversight regarding both the ongoing and strategic technical administration of a large SAP environment that includes R/3, BW, and SEM - BCS/BPS. This person will serve as a subject matter expert and will leverage their experience to improve an existing environment with 8,000 transactional and 40,000 ESS users.

Key responsibilities include

Setup and maintenance of the transport management system Administration and proper use of clients and transports Administration of system monitoring including problem resolution using OSS System and client copies including post processing steps SAP tuning and troubleshooting including the identification and resolution of performance related issues Provide end user support to the SAP user community

Required experience/skills

Manage and control the environment in which R/3 business modules execute Manage the change of various components that are part of the application environment Maintain SAP tables Facilitate correction and transport processes Executes client activities on the development and production instances Tests vendor hardware and new SAP releases Performs capacity planning for SAP databases and application servers Establish and document procedures for system management Resolve software and hardware problems Coordinate technical activities with DBAs, system admins, and developers to address issues SAP print functionality support and administration Support and administration of various bolt-ons and tools used in the SAP landscape Understanding of SAP application security concepts and administration *Performance tuning

Desired Skills
Experience with Single Sign-On/LDAP technology with R/3 Experience in one or more R/3 and/or BW upgrades from a Basis perspective Understanding of database concepts and UNIX administration Understanding of ABAP programming language Excellent communication skills
