Adaptive Micro Systems LLC, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of Electronic Display Systems, is searching for a Global Quality Manager to join us at our corporate office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This global leadership role will shape the strategy and create the operating structures for the quality systems within the Manufacturing facilities worldwide. Through strong project management, this person’s role will provide effective guidance and oversight for general processes in operations, as well as own key decisions regarding quality threshold. This individual will translate new industry trends and requirements into business policy and practice with a key focus on driving the organization to root cause and issue resolution.
This individual will be responsible for the design, support, leadership, and implementation of cost effective, efficient, responsive, and timely systems that will achieve the appropriate level of product quality, company provided service, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the design control and validation activities of new products in the R&D phase; ensure R&D project teams are following the New Product Development model; documentation control; and provide the guidelines and procedures that define the Quality Assurance Department involvement in design review.
· Responsible for providing quality Engineering support as it relates to the NPD process.
· Conducts periodic and special surveys of subcontractors, facilities and manufacturing processes to determine adequacy and capability of quality control and ability to comply with complete quality specifications.
· Reviews quality problems with engineering personnel and directs action required to correct defects.
· Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, subcontractors quality system, schedules, and rejected terms.
· Statistical analysis - In depth understanding of fundamental quality standards and metrics.
· Prepare and implement quality improvement plans, and set quality performance metrics/targets for the operation or divisional unit that assess the effectiveness of the Quality Systems.
· Position will require up to 50% travel including international travel.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline with preference for IE or ME with 5 to 10 years of experience in a quality or lean manufacturing role within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with R&D product testing, writing procedures, and statistical analysis a must.
· Managed and lead quality in a Globally geographically diverse environment.
· Experience with quality improvement methodology (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TQM, Kan Ban, 5S)
