Organization Summary:
The Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC) is a private, non-profit organization that has been helping at-risk young people develop themselves since 1986. To date, more than 20,000 young people have participated in LACC classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for all of us in the greater Los Angeles area.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this position is responsible to ensure the maintenance and repair of the LACC vehicle fleet comprised of over 70 units, including commercial duty trucks and passenger vans. Additionally, the coordinator will ensure all drivers are processed according to agency policies and procedures to include: driver assessments, orientation, database maintenance, transmittal of information for Pull Notification Program, Driver Check, insurance carrier, etc, vehicle inspections. The coordinator and the Safety Manager will work as a team to ensure the vehicles and drivers adhere to the safety standards established by LACC and in accordance with governmental entities.
Essential Functions
· Supervise and direct the vehicle inspection and data collection activities throughout the agency.
· Prepare oral and written reports of fleet activites as required.
· Maintain positive and professional attitude with staff, vendors and vehicle maintenance personnel.
· Promote team work and safe practices amongst drivers and operations staff.Point of contact for all day to day interaction with Enterprise Fleet Services.Handle all internal coordination related to fleet operationsInternal point of contact for all vehicle requests and issues, and implementing the request utilizing approved maintenance vendors.Seek, acquire and transmit approval for maintenance related repairsSchedule and coordinate vehicle availability for preventative maintenance and repair.Receive and coordinate all smog requests through Enterprise.Receive all license plates, registration and insurance renewals and ensure distribution to appropriate sites/operations’ staff.Collect mileage reports and dispatch to Enterprise and the accounting department on a monthly basis.Coordinate vehicle purchase requests and submit new vehicle requests to approved vendors.Submit lease return/lease termination requests to EnterpriseCoordinates vehicle disposal utilizing LACC Vehicle Disposal Procedures, acts as point of contact for vehicle disposal approval to sell vehicles turned in to Enterprise.Maintains active vehicle roster and disseminates information both internally and externally.Assist in the implementation of driver safety program and conducts driver road safety checks on a routine basis.Assists in the investigation of accidents and cooperates in the collection and preparation of reports, material and evidence for agency use in claims processing, hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.Coordinate distribution of fuel, road service and maintenance cards (Wright Express).Ensure vehicles comply with government regulations and coordinate annual CHP inspection.Conducts field safety checks on vehicles. Tracks the status and condition of each fleet vehicle and advises Director when a vehicle needs to be replaced.Inspects agency vehicles to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and reviews Vehicle Inspection Reports to determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Internal point of contact for all driver requests and issues.
· Conducts driver assessments to ensure competency to drive agency vehicles.
· Point of contact for Driver Check Program. Coordinate incoming/outgoing distribution and receipt of all communication received.
· Conducts field Driver safety checks and reviews driver logs.
· Maintains active driver roster and submits changes as needed to the DMV/ Conducts driver “road tests.”

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday (Starting at 7, 7:30, 8, 8:30 or 9:00 a.m.)
Also, due to the demands of service, hours and days of work may vary including weekends, and earlier or later hours of work.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
· Project management and logistics skills necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.
· Ability to work with diverse populations and motivate young adults to meet program goals.
· Competent level of computer skills (Microsoft Office Environment) and the ability to complete the necessary reports.
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills necessary to prepare concise, logical, grammatically correct documents and presentations.

Experience/Education
· High School Diploma or GED; and/or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
Other Requirements:
· Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen test before commencing employment (required to submit for the drug/alcohol screening at a company designated facility) “REQUIRED”
· California Class C Driver’s License, validation of driving record for commercial policy insurability per the requirements of the state of California. “REQUIRED”
· If a private vehicle is utilized for company purposes validation of a California Class C Driver’s License, validation of driving record for commercial policy insurability is required in conjunction with proof of personal minimum liability insurance coverage per the requirements of the state of California. “REQUIRED”
· California Class B Driver’s License, validation of driving record for commercial policy insurability per the requirements of the state of California. If you do not currently possess a California Class B Driver’s License you will have 90 days from the effective date of acquiring this position to secure a Class B Driver’s License. “REQUIRED”
· Standard multi-media first aid certification. If you do not currently possess a standard multi-media first aid certification, you will have 90 days from the effective date of acquiring this position to secure a multi-media certification. “REQUIRED”
· Current TB skin clearance and fingerprint clearance. “NOT REQUIRED”
Salary and Benefits:
· $31,212.00-$40,000 per year (higher starting salary—higher than $31,212.00 per year is commensurate with education and experience that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements).
